Category: Image Tools

When to use?

Copy text from scanned documents, screenshots, or photos without retyping. All processing runs in the browser.

How to use

  • Upload an image by dragging it onto the dropzone or clicking to select.
  • Choose the language of the text in the image.
  • Click "Extract Text" and wait for the OCR engine to process the image.
  • Copy or use the extracted text.

Input Explanation

Supports JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, and BMP. Higher resolution images produce more accurate results.

Cautions

  • The OCR engine (Tesseract.js) downloads language data on first use, which may take a few seconds.
  • Handwritten text, busy backgrounds, and very small fonts may reduce accuracy.
  • All processing runs entirely in the browser — your images are never uploaded.

FAQ

Why is accuracy low on my image?

Low resolution, small font sizes, noisy backgrounds, or mixed languages can reduce recognition accuracy. Try cropping the image to focus on the text area.

Why is the first run slow?

Tesseract.js downloads language training data the first time a language is selected. Subsequent runs are faster because the data is cached.
